Agate Conservation District is pleased to announce our 2024 Range Health Matching grant is still open for applications.
We have opened our applications to those living in neighboring districts as well.

Range land health and conservation practices that help restore our prairie ecosystem of native grasses and plants, resilience in drought or down pour moisture received, infrastructure for rotational grazing and pest or noxious weed control practices help improve quality of all who live in the Eastern Plains of Colorado.
Please do not wait to implement the conservation practices you wish for on your land, simply due to information, help in planning or costs!

Grant Guidelines:
- Matching grants program will pay no more than 50% of the total cost of the practice(s) to be installed.
- Before pictures of range to be improved must be provided with the application.
- All practices must be approved by the NRCS and the Agate Conservation District Board of Supervisors.
- All practices must be paid for by the applicant; upon completion and approval by the NRCS and the Agate Conservation District, the applicant will be reimbursed according to Cost Share Assistance Agreement Form.
- Applicant is responsible for ensuring the practices are completed by the specified deadline.
- Practices installed prior to NRCS and Agate Conservation District approval will not be eligible for assistance.
Program Timeline:
- Application Deadline: Extended Until Funds are Depleted – first come, first serve basis
- Board Meeting to Review Applications: At Regular Board Meetings as Necessary (view our 2024 Meeting Schedule )
- Notification Letters and Cost-Share Agreement Forms Delivered to Landowners: Following Application Approval
- Cost-Share Agreement Forms Returned to the Agate Conservation District: ASAP Following Application Approval
- Landowners to Work with Conservation District and NRCS on Project Design and Specification: beginning Monday March 25, 2024 (once Cost-Share Agreement Forms Have been received)
- Project Completion Deadline: Friday September 6, 2024
- NRCS Project Inspection Deadline: Friday, September 27, 2024
